Looking for change

This post is dedicated to Kristal. Haha. It's not going to be the most exciting blog but it will be a new one.

Monday morning I woke up with a little scratchy throat. I thought it was because I fell asleep with my bedroom window open and woke up to my Mom blasting the AC because she was having another hot flash.
I was wrong. Today my sore throat was awful! I felt guilty calling out sick to work for a sore throat so I suffered through it. At work my head started getting cloudy and I started feeling worse. I finally gave in at 2:30pm once all my work was basically done.
I came home, put on my PJs and went to bed. My parents woke me up at around 6pm for dinner and I was feeling better already.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling even better because I already promised Gina and Randy I'd help them at their podcast party at Tijuana's in Irvine at 8pm.

So lately I've been thinking, is Cox really what I want as my career? Especially doing the job I'm doing now. The answer is no. But what should I do?
I've thought of going back to school to finish getting my teaching degree to be a teacher. But will I find a job or will I be able to survive on the salary?
How about a personal care giver? I love helping people but I need to look into the type of pay I'd get out of it. I know the hours would be long. 12 hour days but I would feel good everyday that I made a difference in someone's life.
An interior designer? I've gotten this from a lot of people. I can go to school for that but how is it in finding a job being an interior designer? And and I really THAT good?

Now is the time to really figure it out. Especially since I'm living back home because I can afford school again... Hmm...
I think I just need a major change in my life. Something exciting!

Toni's Baby Shower

Yesterday Kristal came over to help me finish the party favors for Toni's baby shower. We got all the things I needed, came back to my house and started putting them together.
They were little plastic bottles filled with either M&M's or pacifier sweet tarts with an envelope of flower seeds attached. I'm really pleased on how they came out and everyone thought they were cute.
I also made Toni a diaper cake which I was also really proud of.

Kristal spent the night since it was pointless for her to drive back home when she'd have to be back here today for the shower.
We watched All The Little Animals with Christian Bale. I've never seen that movie and I love Christian. It was a good/weird movie. Really sad actually.

The baby shower started at 11 and went on till 3:30. It was really long but nice to see some friends I haven't seen in awhile.
Afterwards my Mom and I went to Wasabai to get sushi for dinner. Then watched My Best Friends Girl at home.

I'm so exhausted.

A New Chapter

After 2 years of not writing in an online journal or blog I've decided to get to it again. I had a LiveJournal for 5 years but I don't think it would be right continuing on that journal. It was a different chapter of my life. No reason to go back.

The first post is always an awkward one but I'll just try to dig into it.

I'm 25 years old and recently moved back to my parents house. I've worked at Cox Communications for 5 years now. I can't say it's where I want to be for the rest of my life but it's a good job. I need to decide what I'm going to do soon though. Especially since I'm living back at home. It's the perfect time for me to start going to school again. Maybe finally get my teaching license? I'm not sure yet.

Last night was my first time going out with friends in about a month. It was really fun. We were celebrating my friend, Amos's, birthday on a party bus to Pechanga. The party bus was full of fun. It was the biggest party bus I've been on. The size of a large school bus with a stripper pole in the back.
Pechanga wasn't as fun though. Some of the people in our group of about 35 didn't have dress shoes on so they wouldn't let them into club Silk. We weren't told this until most of us had already paid the $10 cover charge, including me. It sucks because that was my last $10!
I didn't get home until 5:30AM. All in all, it was a good night. :)

Well I better go get dressed and ready for the day. I have a lot to do but I'm so lazy after last night. Kristal is coming over to help me and have some much needed Shandra and Kristal time. :) I need to finish the party favors for Toni's baby shower that is tomorrow and put together her gift.
