Angels in the Outfield

Last night and Thursday night I went to an Angel’s game vs the Seattle Mariners. Angel’s won both games.
Thursday night I went with my friend Rob, his sister and her husband, their baby, friend, and Josh and Sara.

I was supposed to meet at Rob’s house right after work. I told him I was going to go home to change then come over. I ended up taking longer then expected and a random lightening, thunder, and rain storm rolled in. It was crazy! It was pouring down rain while it was 85 outside. Earthquake weather? I think so…
So driving to Robs house which is in Fullerton took forever because people were driving like jackasses. Then I stupidly got lost. Ugh. I hate getting lost but this time really pissed me off. He texted me directions to his house but I wrote them down so I didn’t have to keep looking at my phone while driving. Well I guess when I wrote them down I forgot an important part to the directions. I passed the 57 and continued on the 91 until I thought, “This isn’t right… I’m passing Fullerton.” Doh!
I felt so awful but it ended up being ok because Rob and I were still the first ones there waiting for his family and Josh and Sara.

Once everyone was there we went to go in and got denied… Rob accidently bought tickets for Friday night’s game online instead of Thursdays! LOL. So we walked to the front window and tried to exchange the tickets for that nights but the lady said she couldn’t because he didn’t buy the tickets from the Angel’s website. They had some available but they were $14 vs the $6 tickets we already got. Oh well, we just went ahead and got the tickets anyway.

We got a souvenir All Stars flag at entrance of the game. I’ll probably end up throwing it away. LOL. What the heck am I going to do with a huge Angel’s All Stars flag?

So besides the craziness before the game, it ended up being a lot of fun.

Then last night I went to the game again with Rob and a group of his friends since he had already gotten the tickets on accident the night before. After the game we went to his friends house to hang out and ordered a pizza. Rob and his friend Tom decided they wanted doughnuts from this 24hr doughnut place in Brea so I followed them there. I was good and didn't get a doughnut even though it smelled amazing. I got a Lo Carb Monster and we sat there for awhile talking.

Again, another fun night at the Angel's game with Rob. :)

Weekend Update

We moved my Grandma Sara into a senior apartment this weekend. It's right down the street from our house and super cute.
I'm so happy for her because she's so happy. We took her furniture shopping Sunday and she got a couch to go with her lazy boy chair she has, 2 bar stools for her bar top counter, an area rug, and a beautiful 50in TV.
My Dad called me tonight and told me they were going to have dinner over there and to come over. I went over, had dinner and helped decorate her place a little more.

She sat there with a huge smile on her face saying, "It looks good". She is happy and I can't even express how much that makes me happy. She's just been so sad and depressed since my Grandpa's passing. It's like moving to this apartment is a new beginning for her. The old place was where my Grandpa passed so there was bad vibes and memories there.
We're making sure she has everything she wants and needs. Her apartment is very girlie and that's something she needed because my grandpa never let her have that kind of stuff.

We took her to Bed, Bath, and Beyond on Friday and she picked out a shower curtain for her apartment. Her pick? A tan, white, and light pink curtain with powder puffs, high heel shoes, purses, and perfume bottles on it. She also got the matching rug, trash can, and Kleenex holder. "Grandpa would have never let me get this!" LOL. So cute.

It scares me though... seeing how fragile she's become. I know I don't have much longer with her so I'm glad she's down the street. I plan on visiting more often.

Other then that, I just relaxed and tried to get better. Today was my first day back to work. Aside from my clogged ears and little coughing fits, I'm feeling a lot better. :)

Some Photographs of That Day

The other day I was on stumbleupon.com and came across this blog about a man who took a Polaroid picture every day for 19 years until he died.
I can't stop thinking about this man I never even knew or his pictures. I've been so inspired by him. I want to start taking a picture a day myself.
I need to buy a camera. It'd be cool to do Polaroids too but they no longer sell them. Even if I bought a used one, the film is hard to find now too. I could just start using my iPhone until I get a new camera...

Photo of the Day is where all his pictures are now.

Stayed home from work sick today.
Slept until 1:30pm. Felt a lot better so I took a shower, ate some soup and watched another TCM movie. Who Was That Lady? A movie with Dean Martin, Tony Curtis, and Janet Leigh. It was a black and white film about a man and his best friend who come up with a huge lie that they're in the FBI to keep the man's wife from leaving him because she caught him kissing a student of his. It was hilarious. Really enjoyed it.

I've watched so many old movies these past couple of days. It's a lot of fun though. I wish I was around then...

I think I'll be able to go to work tomorrow. I'm feeling a lot better now. My ears are clogged up and I still have a little cough but way better then earlier.

9 days of being sick...

I watched On The Town with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly last night and An American in Paris with Gene Kelly today.
I really loved On The Town. Super good.

I came home early from work today because of my never ending cold.
I ate lunch and went to bed and woke up with an ear ache. :/
I've decided that if I wake up in the morning still feeling this terrible I'm going to call in sick to work and drag myself to the doctor. I hate going to the doctor but it's probably time. A cold lasting 9 days is a little ridiculous.

Weight Watchers weigh in was today. I lost 5.6 lbs this week. Maybe due to me not having an appetite because of this cold. I just hope I keep it off once I'm better.
So I've lost a total of 12 lbs in 4 weeks which is pretty good. I think 10 lbs a month is a pretty good goal.

4th of July Weekend

4th of July weekend was a busy and fun filled weekend for anyone who wasn't sick as a dog! :/ I can't believe I was so sick on a 3 day weekend. What a waste.

Friday night after work I was feeling fine. I went to the Red, White, and Blue 4th of July Weekend Kick off party in Newport Beach on the boat with Josh, Sara, Jesse, Bri. It was a lot of fun. I was feeling well. Saw some people I haven't seen in awhile.
After the boat party was over we all went to a random warehouse party in Lake Forest with Frances and her friend Ken. It was the smallest warehouse party I've ever seen with 2 people dancing. We stayed for 10 minutes then decided to all go to Josh and Sara's house.

I woke up Saturday morning at Josh and Sara's house feeling like death. Sore throat, cough, stuffed up nose and ears, and body aches. I came home, did a little house work, took some Thera-Flu and then had to go to an appointment to try on bridesmaid dresses with Sara in Huntington Beach. Good news is we finally found the dresses! Bad news is I was getting worse and worse.
Later that night I got a fever. Don't know how high it was because we don't have a thermometer.

Sunday was 4th of July and I woke up still feeling terrible. I woke up and took some Thera-Flu and tried to help my Mom around the house but I whole body was aching. I went back to bed but woke up only hear news first about my cousin Alicia then my cousin AJ.
Alicia was in a car accident Saturday night. She was hit by a drunk driver blasting through a red light. She's fine. Bruised. But her car is destroyed.
AJ went surfing with Josh and Jesse Sunday morning. He came over so excited to get out there before the BBQ later that night. He crashed on a wave, the board came down on him and the fin sliced the top of his foot. He had to get 18 stitches. Poor guy couldn't drink on 4th of July because of the antibiotics and pain meds but he was still in high spirits.
Besides the morning craziness the BBQ block party was fun. I enjoyed it as much as I could. I didn't really drink. Just kept taking airbourne and tylenol cold.

Today I had off from work. I feel it was a wasted day due to this stupid cold. While everyone went to the RSM Lake pool, I sat at home watching TV.
I did however watch a really good movie I've never seen before. It's called Summer Stock with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly. I DVR'd a bunch of old musical's on TCM.
